PROCEDURES
SADI Surgery
Obesity is a growing health concern worldwide and can lead to a range of serious health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, and sleep apnea. For many people, diet and exercise alone may not be enough to achieve significant weight loss. In such cases, bariatric surgery can be a highly effective solution. SADI surgery, or Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy, is a type of bariatric procedure that combines two surgical techniques to help patients achieve substantial weight loss and improve their overall health.

SADI Surgery
How Does SADI Surgery Work?
SADI surgery offers many benefits for patients who are severely overweight or obese, including:
- Significant weight loss: SADI surgery can help patients achieve substantial weight loss, which can lead to improved overall health and quality of life.
- Improved health conditions: SADI surgery can help improve or resolve a range of health conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, and sleep apnea.
- Minimally invasive: SADI surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, meaning it is performed through small incisions using instruments guided by a video camera. This results in less pain, a faster recovery, and fewer complications compared to more complex bariatric procedures.
- Long-term weight loss: SADI surgery is a long-term solution for weight loss, as it helps to restrict the amount of food that can be eaten and reduces the amount of food and nutrients that are absorbed.

FAQ
FAQ About Lap-band Surgery In Lubbock, Tx
Lap-Band® surgery is a highly successful procedure, where the majority of patients report significant weight loss. A typical patient loses between 1-2 pounds a week consistently, with this rate slowing down after the first year or so. If you want to get Lap-Band® surgery in Lubbock with West Texas Bariatric, simply call us and ask about our patient success stories!
Patients above a BMI of 35 can expect to lose between 50 and 100 pounds in the first year. The amount of weight lost is heavily dependent on starting BMI, with heavier patients losing more. Gastric bypass surgery typically has patients losing more weight, more quickly; however the Lap-Band® is an excellent option due to its reversibility and fewer surgical complications.
The Lap-Band® is not permanent, and is typically removed within five to ten years of the initial Lap-Band® surgery. The main use of the Lap-Band® is to promote healthy eating habits and make it easier for patients to develop a better relationship with food; it’s not meant to be a permanent fix.
Lap-Band® removal surgery usually takes between 1 to 4 weeks to fully recover from, with most patients taking around 2 weeks off of work to recover. Patients are able to do some activity, such as walking short distances, however they are dissuaded from heavy exercise.
Lap-Band® removal surgery is a safe surgery that presents relatively few complications. Typically, patients will find a few things after their surgery. They will need to follow a liquid diet and slowly reintroduce foods back into their diet. Patients may also feel a bit more hunger than they used to, which is perfectly normal. Patients are instructed by their doctor to follow a healthy eating regimen to promote sustained weight loss after removing the Lap-Band®.
Yes, many insurance providers will pay for Lap-Band® surgery. You will want to check with your insurance provider to make sure that Lap-Band® surgery is covered under your insurance. If you want to know which insurance providers we work with, give us a call and ask if your insurance provider is on the list.
